Sarsfields Hurling Club is one of the oldest hurling Clubs in Cork, est. 1896 in the pike field Sallybrook, by a group of people led by Billy O’ Neill from Sarsfields Court. Sarsfields Hurling Club now has the best of facilities including a club house, two playing pitches, a hurling wall, an all-weather pitch, four new dressing rooms and a new club gym.
The club boasts an number of inter-county players in the past and present like Paddy Barry (Captained Cork Seniors to All-Ireland Glory), Alan Lotty, Micka Brennan, Tom O’Donoghue, Bertie Óg Tadgh Murphy, Teddy McCarthy (Dual All Ireland Winner), John Considine, Pat Ryan, Garvan McCarthy and Kieran Murphy.
At Present Sarsfields have representatives at intercouty level – Conor O’Sullivan (Senior), Daniel Kearney (Senior) and Cian McCarthy (Senior).
