Sarsfields 1951 custodian Seanie Carroll was called to his eternal reward today. A tremendous servant to Sarsfields Hurling Club, it was generally accepted that his heroic performances in the ’51 campaign played a huge part in securing our first ever Senior County title. His display in the final against Glen Rovers was inspirational, and set the standard for all Sarsfields goalkeepers who filled the No. 1 jersey since that famous day. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam.
