With Sars again competing in the minor county final of 2014 on Monday 15th Sep. it is interesting to look back on action from the minor final of 2007. Giving a tremendous display, Sars defeated a strong Midleton team. The following year, Sars went on to win their first senior title since 1957 and for good measure, defended their minor title. Of the 2007 minor team it was noteworthy that six played significant parts in that senior victory, just a year later – a tremendous achievement for a team of such tender age. It is great to look at some of the stars of that 2007 victory and consider what they later achieved with club and county. Incidentally, Robert O’ Driscoll, who shows some great skill in the video, scored winning goals in the senior finals of 2008 and 2012.
